Summer '04

Teachers attended a four-day seminar at the McCall U of I field campus in June 2004.  U of I and LCSC faculty designed a program focusing upon wars in Korea and Vietnam, the Cold War, the history of Civil Rights, and the Chinese in Idaho.  In addition to content, teachers studied the cause-effect and structural analysis models of instruction.

A United States Forest Service ranger guided a field trip to Warren and the Chinese cemetery there.  Visiting this area enhance the classroom stories of Polly Bemis and the Chinese miners.

Teachers designed web-based lessons that included a history component.  These projects reflect the creativity and diversity of a K-12 teacher cadre.
